HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, may have not been able to watch the UAE’s first space mission in Russia but you know he wouldn’t have missed it.
His Highness was seen catching the historic launch from a phone, like us mere folks, and speaking words of praise and pride for the country’s achievements.

The successful journey of the first Emirati pilot, Hazza Al Mansoori, into space took place on Wednesday, September 25, 2019- which will forever go down in history as a first not just for the UAE but the Arab world.
In the video, you can see His Highness put his morning cycle on pause as he proceeds to be amazed by what just transpired.
He even tweeted on his Instagram account, saying, “Over two years ago, my brother Mohammed bin Zayed & I launched the UAE Astronaut Programme. Today, we celebrate the historic flight of the first Emirati Astronaut to the International Space Station. An Emirati achievement we take pride in and dedicate to Muslim & Arab nations.”

“Hazza Al Mansouri’s entry to space sends a message to Arab youth that we can march forward, that we can keep pace with the rest of the world. Our next station is Mars through the Hope Probe, competently designed by our Emirati youth.”

The UAE mission to Mars is the next big thing for the UAE and MBRSC- as it plans to take on Mars by 2020.

The UAE’s mission to Mars will include the release of a spacecraft orbiter to study the Martian atmosphere and climate.

This is expected to launch on July 2020 and will carry out its mission from 2021 to 2023, and will be operated by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC).
