IT’S OFFICIAL: UAE’s Most Ambitious Project Of Building A Mars City In The Desert Will Be Ready In 30 Months
For the uninitiated, UAE’s one of the most ambitious projects involves making a Martian city in the Dubai desert and sending a probe called ‘Hope’ on a mission to planet Mars by the year 2021.
According to a senior official of the UAE Space Agency, the project is on track and the work on the AED500 million Mars City in Dubai has started and will be completed in two and a half years.
What is this Mars City
It will be the largest space stimulation city ever built in the world and a realistic model will be made to mimic conditions of the Red Planet.
It will consist of a series of futuristic glass domes that could house up to 600,000 people, and will also consist of labs for food, energy, water, as well as agricultural testing in the future.
Apart from this, it will also house a Mars museum.

Apart from building a Mars City, the ‘Hope’ probe is also slated to launch in 2020, but will only reach and orbit Mars in 2021, to coincide with the UAE’s 50th anniversary.
