Little Mix Has Stirred Controversy On Dubai Twitter After Their Performance On Saturday

Avatar

British girl group Little Mix left a bunch of Dubai residents surprised following a controversial song included in their performance on Saturday’s The Assembly concert.

The song ‘Secret Love Song Pt 2’ was sung by the group along with a rainbow-colored flag displayed on screen. The flag is a known symbol and representation of the LGBT community, and global Twitter were all over it.

Little Mix came out AND smashed their performance

…They even came all decked out in colors of the UAE flag as a tribute to the country.

Sweet!

Reactions to the flag were SHOOK to shook- real quick

‘Did they just?’

While some Muslim fans didn’t exactly appreciate it

Sexual relations outside a heterosexual marriage is considered a crime in the UAE, so reactions to the act were a mixed bag.

Misconceptions about the possible arrests of Little Mix were made by fans on Twitter

It was a bold move for the group and some even suggested the group might be arrested.

But since it wasn’t a protest, and was part of the group’s music- none of those assumptions were made true.

Other performers were at the event too, like ex-One Direction member, Liam Payne

Liam opened the show last night and with IMMENSE energy, might we add.

Rita Ora took on the stage in a FAB outfit

And although not for a very long time, Hugh Jackman was DEFO the highlight of the night

BAE goals.

The audience went WIIIIILD when Hugh sang a song for a few seconds

Popular host on Virgin Radio DXB’s Kris Fade was the host of the The Assembly concert and he shared some INCREDIBLE footage of Hugh’s short performance on stage.

That’s all the time we really need, after all.
