Here Are 10 Unmissable Live Shows Happening Before Summer Really Hits

In the past three months we’ve seen some pretty big names take the stage like Alesha Dixon, Boyzone and Clean Bandit, performing at sold out concerts all over Dubai. Some of us are still fuming that we managed to miss them but FOMO no more, for we’ve rounded up a list of 10 live shows that are a must-attend.

Mark your calendars folks!

Here are the top 10 live shows happening in Dubai in the months of April and May:

1. The Queen Tribute Act at QE2

Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody surely would’ve renewed your love for the British rock band, that took the world by a storm in the 70s. This May, the four member tribute act taking the stage as Roger, John, Brian and Freddie, will be treating audience members to all the hits of the 70s including Somebody To Love, Another One Bites the Dust and I Want to Break Free.

When: Wednesday, May 1 at 8pm to Friday May 3

2. James Arthur at Zero Gravity

You’ve probably bawled our eyes out to Say You Won’t Let Go, now get ready to do it live, when the X Factor winner takes the stage this month. Having sold more than 25 million records worldwide, he was recently featured on the Greatest Showman, performing Rewrite the Stars alongside singer, Anne Marie.

When: Friday, April 26 at 7pm

3. Solomun at Soho Beach

The deep house with funky bass lines and charged vocals are sure to put you in the mood to party this weekend. Having a stratospheric rise to fame in 2012, when he was declared DJ of the Year by Mixmag Magazine, he now has his own labels (Diynamic and 2DIY4) and has been in the pursuit of reconstructing house music in order to give it a modern twist.

4. Fastlove- A Tribute to George Michael at Dubai Opera

Want to experience a solid Wham! throwback with chart topping hits like Freedom, Faith and Careless Whisper? Well you very well know Dubai has just the thing for you. 5. The Proclaimers at The Irish Village

Letters From America? YES. Sunshine on Leith? UGH YES. 500 Miles? OH hell YES!

The Scottish sibling duo will be set to croon the audience in their broad Scottish accents, with some of their classic hits, but are bringing some new music to the table with their 2018 album Angry Cyclist.

When: Monday, April 29

6. Ritviz at Headlines Cafe

When he won the Bacardi House Party Sessions India, the world of EDM suddenly became aware of young Ritviz Srivastava aka Ritviz, a Pune-based DJ, whose sick bass heavy music with sweet Eastern tunes took the world by a storm. Known for the famous track Udd Gaye which is a must-play at parties and clubs, get ready to get lost in his fresh and soothing set.

When: Friday, May 3 from 8.30pm to 3am

7. Agents of Time and Tale of Us at Blue Marlin Ibiza

This globally in-demand Italian trio and Berlin based duo are sure to get your hearts thumping with their house, acid and techno tracks. Agents of Time, the former, Inspired by the craft of Mathew Jonson, their later collaboration with Jonson at Rex Club (Paris) and Movement Festival (Torino), is telling of their success. Tale of Us, heavily inspired by art, music, literature and cinema, are always experimenting with their music in order to break established EDM boundaries.

8. Andrea Bocelli at Du Arena, Yas Island

Get this, a beautiful concert under the stars in Yas Island’s du Arena, serenaded by the man who Celine Dion once said, has the singing voice of God. How can you possibly pass up the chance to see Andrea Bocelli live! The Tuscan tenor is set to deliver hits from his new album, the message behind which, resonates with the ideal of UAE’s Year of Tolerance.

9. John Newman at Zero Gravity

There’s “Something Special” lined up at Zero Gravity by a special British hitmaker and you absolutely do not want to miss out. The Love Me Again hitmaker is set to take stage with his band and perform songs from his most recent album, Feelings, co-written with Swedish collective Blnk and co-produced with Jarly. Don’t “Blame” us if you miss out on it!

10. Amy Dickson and Amira Fouad at Dubai Opera

A show with renowned pianist, Amira Fouad and twice Grammy nominated saxophonist Amy Dickson, is not something to be missed out on! It is the second last show in the season of Dubai Opera’s Music in the Studio series and will feature the works of Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saens, Milhaud and Piazzolla.

When: Wednesday, May 1 from 8pm onwards
