This Palm Hotel Even Has Its Own Organic Garden

From all the Instagram posts you view each day, we’re pretty sure many of them have hashtags such as #cleaneating #organix #eatclean #healthychoice. With a growing number of people taking on the ‘healthy’ lifestyle, hotels have started on-site gardening. This rapidly-growing trend allows hotels to offer diners a menu featuring greens cultivated in their own gardens.

The latest one to join the bandwagon is luxury hotel Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah.

Its garden is home to fresh veggies and herbs including parsley, coriander, baby spinach, spring onions, cherry tomatoes and bok choy.

Executive Chef Jens Muenchenbach hopes to use organic ingredients at their Vietnamese restaurant, LAO. The idea is to convert it into a completely sustainable dining experience

In the next phase of the sustainability project, the hotel wants to put emphasis on composting – a process that does not contribute to global warming

To do so, they will use the Agriculture Box technology – a pretty quick and safe process that reduces environmental impact by recycling organic kitchen wastes in a third of the time aerobic composting takes. This enriches the soil with nutrients that support plant growth.
