‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ On Now In Dubai Cinemas And People Are Excited
Rogue One: a Star Wars story, is now showing on cinema screens in Dubai.
ROGUE ONE is the first feature film spin-off installment in the Star Wars: Anthology, and for chronology fans it is set before the events of STAR WARS: EPISODE IV – A NEW HOPE (1977) and some five years after STAR WARS REVELS (2014).
The film opened to a blockbuster weekend around the world taking $290.5 million globally on its opening weekend. in ticket sales.
Which gave the film the second-best at its December opening weekend in both the UK and the US and Canada on record. The record is held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took $248m in North America on its debut last year.
The film closed the Dubai International Film Festival before going on general release.
Fans in Dubai were excited to see personalities from the galaxy far, far away. Unfortunately the big stars didn’t make it but we were treated to a host of storm troopers, Chewbacca, Imperial guards, even a Khaleesi-inspired R2D2. ‘Where are my beeps?’
This is a must watch movie for Star Wars fans, and also gave many the itch to rewatch the rest of the Star Wars films, most notable of which is Episode IV: A New Hope, which premiered back in 1977. Do you have 15+ hours to spare?

Realising that the Empire base is likely modelled on Dubai’s man made palm island. The Empire is unnatural, of course they made it #rogueone
