The Dubai Floating Bridge Will Be Experiencing Some Significant Changes On Fridays

In order to accommodate more ships and marine transit modes to navigate through the Dubai Creek, there will be extended closures during the weekends. The Dubai Floating Bridge will continue being closed from Thursdays at 10pm until Saturday 6am. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority announced the changes on Monday. 

Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic & Roads Agency, said, “The extended duration of the Floating Bridge closure will be matched by a corresponding extension of the free crossing over Al Maktoum Bridge.”

This decision has been made in light of comprehensive traffic studies which concluded that Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge and Al Shindaga Tunnel are capable of maintaining the traffic flow on Fridays.
