Aside from ‘that was quick,’ kayaking was probably one of our first thoughts upon seeing the new Dubai Canal. But it looks like these guys got there first and our dreams may have to be put on hold, for a little while at least. Former British Army soldiers John Rawdon-Mogg, 32, and Nick Gross, 31, teacher Ed Green, 32, and lawyer Charlie Richardson, 31, kayaked the 40km stretch, end to end in 8 hours and 12 minutes.
The group had a couple of hilarious run-ins along the way
“Notable moments around the route included dodging abras in the Deira section of the Creek, going underneath SZR with lots of runners on either side of the canal and a huge flock of flamingoes flying low overhead by the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.”
But it’s definitely one for the bucket list!
