Tweet Tweet: This Cool-Tech Savvy Elevator Concept Had Media City Buzzing
Dubai Media City is an area in the Emirate that is EXACTLY as its name bears: a city by media, for media and with LOOOOADS of creative professionals.
One day last week, a number of these professionals were surprised by an elevator surprise that was probably unlike anything ever done in the city.
An elevator takeover shook a few employees at the usually busy GBS building
You can rely on Dubai to turn any random day-to-day life moment into a rather interactive passenger experience, such was the case with elevator-goers at the GBS building in Dubai Media City.
SO cool
#ElevatorTweets: They hacked into the elevators and set up interactive screens with a Twitter tweet wall
So instead of your usual floor-length mirror elevator doors, passengers were met with interactive screens that pulled tweets related to whichever designated floor they pressed.
So whatever media brand’s designated floor was, after clicking, a deck of tweets connected to their brand along with real-time engagement and insight on their audience.
The subtle reason behind the initiative made every sense
Geometry basically saw an opportunity to remind peeps in Dubai’s media sphere to fully take advantage of Twitter’s importance as a connectivity tool to a brand’s audience.
And the fact that Twitter offers a link between real-time convos on the audience in Saudi Arabia, which is (at the moment), one of the biggest markets for media agencies in the region.
The tweet wall immediately caught the attention of employees in Media City who shared the word
‘Pretty rare to have both entertainment and audience insights during an elevator ride’
