Emirates Is Launching Facial Recognition Technologies In Terminal 3 So You Can Pass Through Immigration Using A Selfie

Departing from Terminal 3 is set to get even easier with new technologies being implemented by Emirates at the immigration gates.

Residents using the UAE Smart Wallet app will be able to pass through smart gates that will use biometric data to register residents’ details. 

It means you won’t necessarily need your passport to pass through immigration, as it will compare data to a selfie passengers can take on the UAE Smart Wallet app. 

 The tech will be rolled out over the next year, and be available to anyone using the application, who is a resident of the UAE. 

The technologies are part of Emirates’ ‘Together’ initiative aimed at helping reduce administration time in DXB
