If you grew up in Dubai, or just moved here in the 90s, you’ll probably be the first to talk about how much has changed. In the days when Al Nasr Leisureland was your idea of a turnt night out and the Chicago Beach Hotel was the original Burj Al Arab, we spent our downtime in front of the TV. And before the days of OSN we had something far greater, ye olde Channel 33. We learnt a lot from the programmes, including how to be incredibly dramatic and look off into the distance for long periods of time – hello, The Bold and the Beautiful, and for that, we owe a huge amount of love to Channel 33 – the original Netflix and Chill.
