The Story Behind The Generous Jewels Gifted To Queen Elizabeth By Dubai’s Late Ruler Has Been Revealed
An Instagram account called Buckingham Palace shared photos of a majestic gift to Queen Elizabeth II- dating back in 1979.
The late Dubai ruler, HH Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum gifted England’s ruler with a set of sapphires that she was not only mesmerised by but has also been spotted wearing regularly too! The friendship between England and the UAE has stood the test of time, and with Dubai’s ruler and children often visiting England for polo matches and the support each nation has shown the other over the years.

The stunning set was gifted to the Queen in 1979
The gold camel and trees were also part of the gifts presented to Her Majesty.
Asprey’s London, a showroom for fine jewellery that has been around since 1781, created the set of diamonds and sapphires set in gold
Her Majesty was amazed upon first sight of the grand set
The full set, meant to be worn together, was gifted in a form of a necklace, earrings and a brooch or ring
The Queen had the set modified, later on, by turning the earrings and brooch into a bracelet and trimming the length of the necklace to turn into earrings. Talk about efficiency.
