The Ed Sheeran Show: The Reaction After Last Night’s Concert Is Incredibly Mixed
From the moment British musician Ed Sheeran announced a Dubai date, it’s been a rocky road.
From arm gate, to the Autism Rocks Arena announcing itself as a dry venue just weeks before the concert, the lucky ones who managed to nab the gold dust tickets have been kept on their toes.
The concert was scheduled for a Thursday evening, a black zone for traffic in Dubai. And while the event organisers warned people well in advance of various transport options, it seems delays were unavoidable.
Here’s what went down…

The general consensus
A one-way journey back to the city took 2.5 hours
Ed Sheeran’s concert last night was amazing. Indeed one for the books. But for future concerts, can you not do it in Autism Rocks already? It’s a pain the a%* going there and home. Took us 2 1/2 hrs to go home, myggad! @117_Live

And the feeling was mutual across the board
@117_Live it is really sad that after an amazing show by Ed Sheeran, we have to leave with all the anger and frustration in the world !!!! We’ve been stuck in the car for literally 2 hours and still on going …none of the organizers are anywhere to be seen..never again #117live

The event social media managers have tough work today, but they’re doing their best to respond to all queries
Hey Hayley, we’ve been advising that there’ll be a high volume of traffic, especially as it’s Thurs night, But there’s still time before Ed gets on stage

Thanks for your msg, we’re keeping an eye on traffic, it is a hugely popular gig so recommended leaving more time than usual to reach the venue but Ed’s not on for a while yet!

The problem is this: the venue is a bottle neck for traffic
As a dry venue people were more inclined to drive, which aggravated the traffic.
At least some praise was sent in the organiser’s direction
Have to applaud @117_Live ‘s security for quickly dealing with a bunch of individuals catcalling women and pushing a peaceful crowd in the front zone of Ed sheeran’s concert.
