UAE Businesses Need To Do More To Support Local Music In The Region

Avatar

As the UAE entertainment season comes to a close – there’s no doubt in the fact that it was a huge season for music, entertainment and the city.

With stellar performances from everyone from Ed Sheeran to P!nk, K-Pop artists at SM Town, The Chainsmokers and Elton John, the gigs have been huge – and the residents love it.

But there’s something lacking in the regional market – there are all these huge names and performers coming to Dubai and getting paid millions of dirhams…but where are our local acts?

Businesses need to get behind these artists

Dubai, and the UAE, has a massive host of talent, musically and artistically.

And there are steps in the right direction – particularly with events like Dxbeats that was at Dubai Opera, slots at music festivals like RedFestDXB, the Emirates Airlines Dubai Rugby Sevens and the like that are helping the city on its way, but it’s not enough.

Businesses and events should be using original artists as entertainment for brunches, for events, for launch parties.

We should be banding together to create an economy for these talented people – and paying for their incredible services.

The more the city, and its businesses invest in this industry, the more it will grow and prosper.

It’s already humming underground – but why can’t it be above ground – and front-and-centre of every event?

Here are just a few of the UAE’s best & brightest musicians
