7 Things No One Tells You About The All-Inclusive Rixos Deal In RAK

Avatar

Everyone talks about the Rixos Bab Al Bahr all-inclusive deal in Ras Al Khaimah.

It’s AED600 for all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink.

And this weekend, I popped down with a hoard of gal pals to check it out. Here’s what I learnt.

1. It’s dog-eat-dog

Everyone is a bit aggressive in getting their fill, of food, drinks, sun-loungers.

People charge on ahead, making sure they don’t miss out on anything, which was a bit off-putting at times!

The buffet is a hustle-bustle, the pools are rammed and it’s go-go-go as soon as you check in.

2. There are LOADS of families

It really surprised our young group of singletons at the sheer volume of families and children around – we were expecting a spring-break style party but it was more like your usual beach resort.

There is a massive kids’ club, children’s entertainment and screaming or excited youngsters everywhere – which was unexpected for us.

3. You need to book restaurants in advance

Like, way in advance. It’s tough because there are several restaurants in the resort, but they book up thanks to the offer.

So you need to book them as soon as you check-in, otherwise you’ll be stuck at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Which we were).

4. There are adult-only sections

A relief for the cranky older people, there are plenty of sections to escape the children, including areas at the dining hall buffet, and an adults’ only pool.

Though some of the adults tend to act less mature than children at times!

5. There are loads of recreational activities

Some a hoot, some really random – there’s an Ibiza style foam party every Friday afternoon, with DJs, dancing girls, and hoards of children.

There’s also karaoke on the stage, with songs available in Russian, German, Spanish and English – the melting pot of cultures makes this a real experience.

This has to be the only resort that has taken the phrase ‘something for everyone’ this literally.

6. It’s quantity over quality

Predictably, it’s not the finest of foods and drinks you’re served here. Though for such a decent price – what did you expect? It does the job, but don’t expect anything too fancy.

7. It’s a good laugh

Despite some of the difficulties, it’s an absolutely hilarious weekend away.

Plus at AED600 per head, it works out about the same for a night away with food and drink, as one of your higher-end brunches, so why not…?

The people-watching alone will have you in stitches.
