Could This Be The Most Expensive Bike In The UAE?

Dubai loves a most expensive story, usually, we are writing about the most expensive places or food and even gyms, however, this time its a BICYCLE, more specifically a triathlon bike, or time trial (TT) bike, and we happen to be part of the story.

Our charming founder, Richard Fitzgerald, who is a triathlon enthusiast, recently purchased the first Dimond Bike to be sold in the UAE.

The super sleek red bike costs only AED 73,400… no big deal pfft

Top-end bikes in Dubai can go for around AED 50,000 or AED 60,000. This setting bike was purchased at Ride Bike Shop on SZR.  Luckily for Rich and his pocket, he knows the owner and was looked after on the overall deal.

In addition, the top of the range Enve SES 7.8 carbon wheels with Chris King Ceramic Hubs were added

The bike was custom made in Des Moines, Iowa 

Dimond Bikes were founded in 2013 by TJ Toklkason, a competitor in the Ironman world champions in Kona this weekend.
TJ Toklkason had the radical idea to bring back the golden era of superbike designs with a redesign of the Zipp 2001. Though the Zipp 2001 went out of production 13 years prior, it was still the fastest triathlon bicycle in the world in recent wind tunnel tests.

Rich has been cycling on the roads of Dubai since arriving here back in 2012

‘I’ve been riding TT bikes every since I moved to Dubai, and had often dreamed of owning a bike like this. I had a fixed gear bike custom made 10 years ago that I still ride around JLT, the experience of selecting each part, and having it made custom to your preferences, adds to the pleasure of riding the bike.

So investing in a TT bike, something that I can ride around Dubai in Al Qudra or in any of the triathlon races for the foreseeable future is something that I will get a lot of value out of.’
