These 9 Unreal Breakfasts Need To Be On Your Dubai Breakfast Bucket List

Avatar

Breakfast. Hands down the best meal of the day, no question asked.

Whether you want a grill, spuds, sweets or a healthy feed, this list has something to suit everyone. It’s basically a homage to all the great breakfasts in the city. So go forth and feast…although we apologise to your waistline in advance.

1. The New Benedict at Tom & Serg – AED 68

Feast your eyes on this absolutely dirty (in the best sense possible) feed. It’s your classic eggs benedict but made with a hungry belly in mind; so with extra bbq braised veal, hollandaise, yuzu apple chutney, shiso, shoots, and banh mi toast (we’re not quite sure what the last couple of things are either, but we promise they taste great).

2. French Toast at Bertin Bistro – AED 59

For French toast lovers everywhere, it really doesn’t get any better than this. This sinful, salty caramel dessert is the definition of a cheat-day treat, that’s worth every extra second in the gym. It made our Dubai bucket list, so it’s only fair it makes out Breakfast bucket list too.

3. The Surfers Breakfast at The Surf Cafe – AED 78

Many a weekend can be wiled away at this chill surf cafe, but it’s not only the waves that people ‘drop in’ for (terrible…we know)…The menu happens to be pretty whopper too. We’re big fans of the Surfers Breakfast – a huge feed of three eggs, light rye bread, yogurt mixed with homemade granola, a super tasty muffin, OJ and a hot drop. All that and it’s healthy too…winning!

4. The Banoffee at Cocoa Room – AED 50

When this little known spot opened it’s doors, Dubai foodies flocked. And for good reason. Definitely made for those with a sweet tooth in mind, the Banoffee is made up of something special. It’s basically a stack of pancakes loaded with digestive crumbles and toffee sauce…not completely convinced it’s breakfast? Well they’ve thrown in some bananas for good measure too. YUM.

5. Banana Bread French toast at Fraiche – AED 45

We’re possibly biased because these guys are our neighbours but we can’t get enough of it. Why? Because they don’t mess with a classic. This is a traditional spongy bread with toffee sauce coming out of it’s ears, topped with banana slices and walnuts….ALSO these guys are doing great acai bowls, so if you’re on a health kick, this is a great shout too.

6. Waffles at Clinton Street Baking Company – Approx AED 60

Arguably the best breakfast spot in town, if you’re looking for an absolute whopper American style breakfast, this is your place. We have yet to brave the fried chicken option, but we’re big fans of their strawberry-shortcake waffle breakfast. They tend to mix up the waffle menu a bit so you might be in for a different treat when you visit. Breakfast goals like no other.

7. Shakshouka at Baker & Spice – AED 80

Possible to have a breakfast bucket list without including shakshouka? Not likely. Perfect for a cold morning when you need a little something warm for the day ahead, and B&S is the place to get it. The Downtown Cafe does a great green shakshouka made with melted onion salsa, fresh spinach, turmeric and dried chili flakes.

8. The Paleo Breakfast at Circle Cafe – Approx AED 58

With eight locations in Dubai alone, it’s clear that the people behind Circle Cafe have a winning formula. A minimal, clean design, oodles of healthy salads and of course, some beastly breakfasts. Top of the pack for us right now has got to be their paleo offering, why? Because the staff are super accommodating and they’re happy to switch and swap whatever is on the menu until you’re happy with your order. Super sound.

9. The Italiano (with coffee of course) at Tashas – AED 50

There is no better spot for a SUPERB cup of coffee and a fresh pastry than this Al Safa gem. A discreet location with big bright windows, we recommend the cheesy croissant with your favourite caffeine fix. A real local haunt, there’s always a buzz here, so come early at the weekend for a good seat.
