A Study Reveals Nearly 50% Of Drivers Don’t Use Indicators On UAE Roads
A new study, ‘behind the wheel’ by RoadSafetyUAE monitored 5,000 manoeuvres and found that almost HALF of manoeuvres on UAE roads were completed without the use of an indicator.
The survey was carried out on UAE roads between February and June 2019 and is characteristic of all types of transport; both public and private transport vehicles are at fault.
The AED400 fine for making a turn without using an indicator has not deterred drivers
Nearly 50% of turns, highway exits and lane changes were done without an indicator
In light of recent road accidents, it’s more apparent now than ever that drivers need to obey the rules of the road.
The survey suggested leading by example, noting if one driver follows the rules of the road, others seem to follow.
