A Designer Has Pointed Out That People Have Been Decorating Christmas Trees Wrong This Entire Time

Avatar

December is here and lots of us have already put up our Christmas trees – but apparently we’ve been decorating them wrong.

Designer Francesco Bilotto told House Beautiful (a UK based magazine) that fairy lights should be hung vertically, not horizontally.

According to him, that’s the best way to use fewer strands and save money while stopping lights from getting stuck in the middle of the tree.

“This way every tip of your tree, from branch to branch, will twinkle with delight,” he said.

He advises you to grab the end of the lights which doesn’t have a plug attached and make your way down from the top of the tree.

Then pull the lights a few inches to the right and work your way back up and then down again until the whole tree is covered.
