What Your Dubai Address Says About You

Avatar

It’s interesting to find out where people choose to live in Dubai, with such a variety of locations, demographics and lifestyles.

We’ve decided to do a personality analysis of residents all over Dubai and what their Dubai suburb says about them.

Because there are so many, we’ll break this into a couple of posts – starting with Dubai South.

JBR: The ultimate beach bum

You’re kind of a showoff, and a bit lazy – you want to be close to everything. You like being social and out most nights but don’t really have the means to sustain it.

Jbr

Dubai Marina: The work-hard, party-harder execs

You like being in the thick of things, but still have a full time job and are trying to act like you have things together. But you cant’ quite bring yourself to move away from the parties and you love being in amongst the action.

JLT: You want to be in the action…but not really

You love living near the happening parts of town, but are happy being a bit on the outer. You always want to get involved with activities but somehow getting home always ends up being the better option. The proximity to Dubai Marina is great, but that traffic? No thanks.

Oh, and you’re also broke paying for all that Palm District Cooling.

The Greens: The pretend adults

You guys want to believe you’re grown up, you really do. And we want to believe it too – you’ve got stunning views and not a construction site on the horizon. But we know you really still need to live close to Rock Bottom. On the plus side, your ears don’t ring with the sound of construction like the rest of us…

TECOM: Hipster Vibes Strong

You think you’re really ‘living the Dubai life’, on the mean streets of Tecom.

There are random little places you’re constantly stumbling across (not massage parlours), and you think you’re in great proximity to the Marina and all the glamourous parts. But no, we are not calling it Barsha Heights.

Barsha: The urban adventurer

If you live here, you obviously don’t drive – because you’d lose your mind. You know where all the little hole-in-the-wall food joints are, and spent way too much time at MOE because you can walk there.

The Palm: The permanent holiday maker

You live on The Palm because you always want to feel like you’re on holiday. When people ask where you live, you love to say it with an air of superiority…even though it’s costing you nearly two thirds of your income in rent, but it’s mostly worth it.

Palm Lolz

JVC: The cost-savvy chillaxer

You’re smug because you’re paying half the rent of every other sucker out there, and live in a fairly new place too. You are happy doing your thing, but aren’t overly fussed on getting involved in the big city antics – you’re happiest at home…particularly because your square-footage is bigger than anyone else’s you know.

Sports City: We get it, you work out

But do you have to live somewhere to prove it? You’re out on the bike every weekend, you love a breakfast at The Cycle Bistro and you’re not much into the party scene.

You’re a member of Fit Republik and go to Nathalie’s every Friday after a hard morning’s ride at Al Qudra.
