It’s the one you’ve been waiting for.
The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is hereeee!
Which means three days of rugby… and so much more.
As the event has evolved into a must-visit on the Dubai calendar, so too has the level of entertainment and action, on and OFF the pitch. This year, Sevens is going seventies themes, there’s a huge entertainment zone for the kids, a Freddie Mercury tribute, Kylie Minogue, stages, tribute acts and more.
Here’s why it’s not *just* rugby fans who are obsessed with Sevens…
4. Celebrating 50 years of Sevens- with music tributes galore
Kylie Minogue isn’t the only one blasting out old schools tracks, this year the event is coming alive with multiple stages dedicated to the past five decades of music.
The Green Tavern Tent will be dedicated to the decade that started it all – the 70s with an 80s disco in the Green Room and a 90s Rock Zone in the Green Space on Friday. On Saturday, 00s and 10s tunes will take over, coming full circle for five decades of tunes.
3. The stages you need to know
The Tavern: live feeds with all the rugby playing, a 70s playback’ stage in the centre, and a bucket load of great tribute acts.
The green Room: Sevens has a nightclub and this is it! It’s a silent disco with 80s tunes, which Candypants will take over on Saturday. Think confetti, inflatables and party props.
Green Space: A 90s themed open-air stage featuring tributes from the best of the 90s including a Green Day Tribute, an Oasis Tribute and many more.
2. Kylie Minogueeeeeee
The iconic popstar needs NO introduction.
Kylie takes the stage on Friday night at 9.30pm, on Friday, December 6 at The Sevens Stadium on pitch 2.
Want to meet her? Well, you can!
All you need to do to get into the draw? Be prompt! Get there on Friday, before 3pm and you will automatically enter into a prize to win a meet & greet with Kylie (This huge prize is available for Platinum List online ticket holders only.)
1. Bring ‘errrry body to the Rugby Village!
Food, drinks, inflatable zip-lining, an inflatable waterpark, bungee jumping and more at Splash ‘n’ Party.
Amazing for kids of all ages, the youngest ‘uns will love Emirates Kids Zone, which has its own carnival zone, inflatable obstacle course, trampolines with face painting, balloon bending, arts and crafts centre. It’s a full area dedicated to keeping the kids entertained for the entire weekend.
