Get COVID-19 Approved Travel Insurance Before You Leave Or Enter The UAE

For months, UAE airspace was closed, but now the country is reopening and airlines are slowly beginning to operate once more… Yaay!

And in-line with COVID-19 precautions, the Dubai government has outlined specific travel information for both residents and tourists travelling to and from the city to ensure safety for all.

Visiting or planning a trip abroad? Get COVID-19 cover here.

The key info is outlined here for residents and here for tourists and you’ll note that, for example, residents returning to the UAE need GDRFA approval while both residents and tourists must provide a COVID-19 negative test AND should present COVID-19 travel insurance. Alternatively, you may declare at check-in that you will bear the costs for treatment and isolation if necessary.

It’s worth noting, medical expenses are PRICEY and insurance is essential not *just* because it’s a legal requirement, but it will also minimise risk on your part and protect you in advance. Welcome to advanced adulting peeps!

Here are the COVID-19 travel insurance details you need to know about

The latest updates via Emirates states: “You must declare at check-in that you have health insurance or will bear the costs for treatment and isolation if required.”

Travel insurance is easy-peasy to sort, but make sure you choose the COVID-19 cover option. Petra Insurance Brokers now offer COVID-19 cover for those departing and returning to the UAE.

The process is SUPER simple. You simply need to add details about your trip, (fill them in here to get a quote) choose the best option to suit you, and you’re done. Simples!

The latest updates via Emirates states: “You must have travel insurance with COVID-19 cover or declare at check-in that you will bear the costs for treatment and isolation if necessary before you travel. Bring an insurance certificate stating COVID-19 coverage to present at check-in.”

Same as above; you’ll choose your policy type, your start and end date, you’ll get a quote, you’ll pay the fee and you’re done.
