Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Reveals New Plan For Government Restructure

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has announced on Sunday the merger of different agencies and ministries.

The UAE government is planning to merge ministries and agencies together to adapt a post-coronavirus plan for the future.

His Highness states new changes will create a more responsive government

“Our goal of structural changes today is a government that is faster in decision-making .. and is more up to date with changes .. and better in seizing opportunities and in dealing with the new stage in our history .. a flexible and fast government whose goal is to consolidate the achievements and gains of the country,” His Highness stated on Twitter.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announces the conversion of government service centres to digital platforms and the merger of federal entities and ministries

The Vice President and Prime Minister also announced on Twitter “Canceling 50% of government service centers and converting them to digital platforms within two years … merging about 50% of federal agencies with each other or within ministries … creating new government ministerial positions … and creating executive heads in specialized sectors that we need to cross aggressively for the future.”

Plans for reshaping the UAE government were announced on May 13, 2020

“Brothers and sisters, we announced on May 13, 2020 our intention to review the structure of the Emirates government .. We promised to make changes .. and merge ministries and agencies .. to come out with a government that is more flexible, fast and keeping pace with the changes .. adopted a little before the new structure .. and we announce it tomorrow at twelve noon with permission Allah..” Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter.

These new developments in restructuring come after His Highness urged the government to adopt policies that tackle post-pandemic challenges.
