Right now, it’s small gestures… plastic straws, bottles and cutlery are slowly becoming taboo, restaurants aren’t stocking them, hotels are inching towards dissing them and it feels like the people are taking important steps towards sustainability.
But in too many cases, it takes brands and corporations longer to catch on. There are many reasons for this, (cost is 10010% a factor) so for the brands that ARE leading the way, we stan.
Absolut, (a carbon-neutral drink’s company with the world’s most energy-efficient distillery) is highlighting the creative ways you can totally rethink your recycling behaviour… and we’re not just talking about straws here.
A new movement that advocates wasteless nights – we stan!
Absolut The Remixers takes a step back to rethink waste, in all facets of the nightlife industry.
The purpose is simple. Everyone can minimise waste simply by reducing, reusing and recycling and The Remixers are cropping up all over Dubai, to promote wasteless nights and events.
The bars are made from recycled materials, even the bar management is sustainable with different bins for recycling, reusable cups for festival-goers and recycled stations with awards, encouraging people to clean up at events – genius!
And this month, you’ll spot the replacement of plastic bags to Tot bags made out of recycled cotton in a couple of MMI stores and at Eurostar Cellar in Ghantoot.
