Travellers Beware: Emirates Has Announced A Decrease In Baggage Allowance

That beautiful 30kg baggage that comes with your Emirates flight ticket is about to be a thing of the past for some ticket holders.

Economy ticket travellers in the ‘Special’ and ‘Saver’ ticket categories will see a reduced baggage allowance from February 4.

Special tickets will be reduced to 15kg from 20kg.

Saver tickets will be reduced to 25kg from 30kg. (There are some exceptions, check the full updated baggage allowance here.)

Hand luggage will remain at 7kg and other ticket holders will not be affected.

The new rates only apply to tickets booked AFTER February 4, so if you’ve already got a flight booked under the Special or Saver ticket option, you can still enjoy the higher luggage allowance.

Emirates Has Announced Up To 50kg Free Baggage Allowance On Certain Flights

It’s the news you’ve all been waiting for, but unfortunately it’s only available on certain flights.

Emirates, the Dubai based airline you know and love, has announced additional free baggage allowance on certain flights purchased in Dubai to India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

So while it’s handy to have up to 30kg free baggage available to you now, sometimes, that’s JUST NOT ENOUGH.

Well shout out to Emirates for making life easier!

Emirates is giving free baggage allowance to these destinations when flying from Dubai, and the offer gives you up to 20 extra kilos ON TOP of the checked baggage allowance.

Keep an eye on the offer because depending on your flight destination, you may be allowed up to 50kg. That’s a lotta luggage.
