Etihad Is Loaning Out Its Pilots To Emirates For Two Years To Help With Shortages

Etihad Airways pilots have been offered a secondment at Emirates Airline, according to local reports.

The pilots at Etihad have been asked to express interest in working at Emirates as part of a plan by the two airlines to address pilot shortages in the industry; as well as cut costs and streamline ops, according to The National.

Pilots have been offered an Emirates package, and two-year leave of absence from their Etihad roles, with retention of their Etihad titles for when they return.

Emirates will be paying their salaries.

There have been rumours of a merger between the two airlines previously

However both airlines categorically denied talks of merging.
