One of the Philippines’ brightest young stars wowed the annual Star Magic Ball, a prestigious celebrity-only awards gala in Manila, after stunting in an original Michael Cinco design.

But the process behind that majestic, modern Filipińiana wasn’t a simple one.

During a trip to Dubai, the 23-year-old made a quick pitstop to one of the region’s most notable haute couture designer, who’s based in the Emirate’s very own Dubai Design District.

Kathryn has starred in 17+ movies since she was- and is considered one of the Philippines’ prime actors of today

Starting a career all the way back in 2003, playing younger roles of lead female characters- Bernardo has been in the acting game for a while and her moment seems to just be getting started.

A lover of traveler, Bernardo is usually in the UAE with her real-life boyfriend and on-screen partner, Daniel Padilla, for film premieres- or to simply sight-see.

She met with notorious celeb designer, Michael Cinco, who dressed her to the nines

Oh, how fun it must be to be able to change in and out of all these FAB designs?

Can’t relate.

The Star Magic Ball is considered a moment for Filipino celebs to truly showcase their style, taste and a designers’ outfit

In short, it’s quite like the Met Gala of the showbiz industry.

VIP treatment: Cinco himself measured the star during her fittings

GOALS.

Her final choice: this stunning T’nalak print, ode to traditional Filipina dressing with a modern twist

…and it’s hot pink.

Need we say more?

What a LOOK!

Kathryn shared the process of choosing the outfit in Dubai, and how she came to her decision- without regrets.

When I visited @michael5inco’s atelier in Dubai, he actually had me try on several dresses to check the best cut, color, and silhouette for me. I fell in love with everything tbh, but in the end we were torn between red or pink (you already know what I chose 😸). I originally requested to incorporate T’nalak prints to make the look very Filipino, and he did so without compromising the signature Michael Cinco aesthetic by mimicking the patterns using Swarovski crystals. 💯 Thank you so much Michael and team for accommodating me despite your very busy schedule and for making our vision a reality! This Filipiniana is everything I wanted and more. I am forever your fan and I could only wish for more collaborations in the future. 💖 Special thanks to @valtaguba as well for helping us out with the fittings and minor alterations! 😘
