7 Ice Cream Flavours That Prove The World Has Gone Absolutely Bonkers

Avatar

We’re all partial to a creamy vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate or a divine fruity gelato.

But then some people like to try the more left-field options. Camel milk ice cream, cheese, the list goes on. But these REALLY take the cake.

1. Foie Gras – France

Foie gras is a delicacy made from the fattened liver of a duck or goose. I think that says it all.

2. Crocodile Egg – The Philippines

This hen egg substitute is said to be creamier and thicker due to its larger yolk and they claim it’s more nutritious. It doesn’t have any taste of crocodile but we still think we’ll be passing on this.

3. Brown Bread – Ireland

This seems like the most normal on this list and probably the only one we’d try. Leave it to the Irish to take a boring staple and add it to ice-cream.

4. Durian – Indonesia

For those who have had the pleasure, or rather displeasure, of smelling this pungent fruit, it’s certainly not one you’ll forget. An indescribable smell, all we can say is that it’s been banned in some places due to the potent odour and if that’s not an indicator to steer clear of this fruit in any form, frozen or otherwise, we don’t know what is.

5. Lobster – USA

Maine, USA is famed for its lobster but just because you’re well known for something does not mean you need to exploit it to the extent of creating a frozen dairy treat with it. Leave the shellfish for the main course next time.

6. Haggis – U.K

The Scottish national dish, made with sheep’s pluck, we’ll leave you to google that yourself, is blended up with some ice cream. Again, another case of an area trying to cash in on its famed dish by branching into the dessert market. Leave it alone guys.

7. Garlic – Japan

Garlic certainly has its place in a meal. We’ve all been guilty of adding a bulb or two to our dishes, just us? But ice-cream? Unless you’re trying to ward off Edward Cullen and the gang we don’t see the need.

We think good old vanilla is sounding great right about now!
