The List Of The Most Googled Topics In The UAE in 2017 Has Been Released And It Is Hardly Surprising
Google has announced its annual Year in Search results that showcase the most trending topics people searched for over the past year.
And in the UAE, the results were pretty much as one would expect- from the launch of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, to the Dubai Fitness Challenge, to Logan Paul’s visit.
Local Events
The most googled local event was Gitex, followed by the Dubai Fitness Challenge and then UAE National Day.
Other popular searches for local events included the Dubai Airshow, VIDXB, Creamfields Abu Dhabi, and Sole DXB.
Most searched topics in the UAE
Lots of sports-related queries topping the news events and general searches list including the World Cup and Indian Premier League 2017.
Others include iPhone 8, Bitcoin, fidget spinners and VAT in the UAE.
And, of course, Louvre Abu Dhabi
And Despacito…
People
Hardly a shocker, Logan Paul, who broke a world record with the largest meet-and-greet at Dubai Mall tops the list of the most googled person in the UAE.
Others who made the list include Gal Gadot, Bhavana, Philippe Coutinho, Harvey Wenstein, Shuaib Rashed, and Floyd Mayweather.
The data is generated by looking at an aggregation of trillions of searches that people searched on Google and the lists are then filtered of spam and repeat queries to build lists that “best reflect the spirit of 2017”.
