PICS: The Slick Dubai Building That Looks Like An iPod Is Nearly Complete
A blank canvas in a city like Dubai is an architect’s dream, and Hong Kong based James Law ‘Cybertecture’ did not hold back.
Introducing: ‘The Pad’
The 26 storey tall residential building that looks like an iPod, located in Business Bay, is nearly complete and it fits into Dubai’s modern skyline like a dream.
The original design was the winner of an architecture competition more than ten years ago, taking the top prize over other distinguished architecture firms including Zaha Hadid Architects
The company says…
‘The Pad’s architecture is inspired by the Apple iPod, and scales up the form of an iPod to a building scale. ‘
The structure is designed as a leaning tower
This is to mimic the original iPod device when sitting in a charging dock
Featuring biometric locks, mood lighting, voice control and mirrors that monitor your health
‘Cybertecture’ combines architecture and technology to create a smart-home living environment for inhabitants.
The building is residential and includes one, two and three bed apartments. Prices TBC.
