Grab Your Keys: It’s Time To Visit This Awesome New Downtown Lebanese Spot

With the World Trade Centre area completely jam-packed with restaurants, are you ever at a loss about where to go and eat? Well, after we experienced an evening at this newly opened Lebanese restaurant at the WTC, we know we’ve found one of the best Lebanese places going. In case you haven’t already heard – Mazaher has arrived.

First impressions

The café-cum-restaurant initially has a more international feel. On entry, our attention was immediately drawn towards a 300 year old tree in the centre of the dining room floor which blends in beautifully with the surrounding décor; this is the casual café area, however similar interiors follow into the more formal dining room.

What we ate

One of the biggest problems I have going to a Lebanese restaurant is that I’m afraid to ask for help with the menu, so I always end up with the same thing. Not this time however. Khalid and his amazing team went through the menu with us in depth and suggested we try the tasting menu which would give us a real feel for the menu.

For the Cold Mezzeh we especially loved the new flavours introduced to us with the Kebbe Naye, Basterma Roll and Vine Leaves, the portions were HUGE however, and with hot mezzeh, mains and desserts still to come we did our best not to polish it all off.

For the Hot Mezzah we had the chicken liver and the fresh fish, which was cooked beautifully in a lightly spiced sauce.

We were now ready for the main course; the mixed grill was delicious but it was the freshly prepared haddock, (that we managed to finish with ease despite how full we were) which stole the show.

What you can expect

Even for people not working or living in the area, I strongly recommend trying this place out. The food was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and always on hand to help, and as an added bonus, they all seem to have a long history in the restaurant trade and really know their food.

These guys are putting on a great Iftar menu, make sure you call in advance to snag a spot.

What you’ll pay

For Lebanese food, the prices are slightly on the higher side, but if you are looking for a fine dining Lebanese experience it’s worth paying the extra little bit.

Starters vary from AED 30-50, mains from AED 80-200 and deserts from AED35 ( ask for the signature Mazaher Bouza; a real treat for anyone with a sweet tooth!)
