4 Reasons You Have To Do This Thursday Night Blues Brunch

Avatar

In Dubai we are used to international brands, whether it’s franchise of restaurants or hotels. So when there is a concept created locally, even if it is by international talent and with many influencers, it’s still a bit special. Hotels often create dining concepts just for them, see Il Capo at The Westin, Al Habtoor City. This has also happened at The Four Seasons in DIFC.

You would think when you enter Firebird Diner, that’s it s a finely tuned international brand. And although its very much a concept by American Chef, Michael Mina, who has many restaurants across the united states. For this one he has worked with The Four Seasons to create something unique and it’s a bit special.

We think their Thursday blues brunch is the best time to check it out, and here’s why…

1. It’s an American diner with amazing vibe and blues music

Think fine dining, then think Johnny Rockets or any other American diner brand and mix them together. You’ll end up with Firebird. It’s noisy, slick, american, fast and probably not the healthiest in the world, but the portions are smaller than usual, the presentation and overall quality of the food is amazing.

You’ll be in a good mood even before you hear the music. The live swing band, with great tunes and good personality, will bring the diner, its al fresco terrace and open kitchen to life, to transport you to America – the home of Blues!

2. There cocktails and mocktails are seriously good

The bar will serve a selection of imaginative cocktails and mocktails to complement the cuisine, all inspired by American places, culture and history: Boston Tea Party, a tribute to the historical event, harmoniously blends  Earl Grey tea and the American spirit Bourbon; Miami Nights, celebrates Florida’s famous oranges with a blend of two orange liquors to create a cocktail as cool as a hot Miami night; Tutti Frutti, inspired by the hit song of Little Richard, is fruity and refreshing for guests to enjoy throughout the evening whilst jiving to the jukebox.

3. The location right in the hearth of DIFC will be perfect for many

You’ve got LPM on your left, Chiprani on your right, but snuggled in the middle is Firebird. The outdoor terrace is a clear winner.

4. The food is so good you won’t want it to end

As mentioned, this is classical american food done in a fine dining way. Some recommended dishes are:  Kansas City Lamb Ribs with homemade bread, butter pickles and apple slaw and New Orleans Style Jambalaya including wild caught prawns, chicken andouille sausage and lobster sofrito. To finish, Strawberry Shortcake and S’mores Tarte are must haves on the menu.

To conclude, this wouldn’t be on a list of top 10 restaurants in Dubai. It’s a diner, and it is what it is. But if it’s good food, drink and live music you are after, in a great location, then you can’t go wrong.

The diner will open from 7pm until 1am and the live swing band will perform three scintillating sets from 8.30pm – 11.00pm. Last orders for alcoholic drinks by 12.30am.
