Footage Shows Kenensia Benkele Falling At The Start Of The Dubai Marathon As He Attempted A World Record
They say a sub two hour marathon is going to happen this year. World record holder Kenensia Benkele was attempting to do it early doors in January at the Dubai Marathon today, but he failed to complete the marathon, pulling out half way through the 42km course. Some people may have felt he was making excuses when he pulled out but this footage shows that he had a bad fall at the start of the race.

The world record could have been broken
It’s a great shame, as according to reports, by 10k,(28:58) Bekele was 5 seconds back of the leaders, but they were still on world record pace. The course record was broken at 2:04:11 but not the world record of 2:02:57.
