British Golfer and regular Ryder Cup team member, Ian Poulter, was one of those to play the new course. He tweeted to say that he received abuse for doing so. The controversy has started as a result of a tweet by Rory McLroy giving an explanation for accepting a round of Golf in the US with President Trump.

“To be called a fascist and a bigot by some people just because I spend time in someone’s company is just ridiculous”

Rory McIlroy
