This week FLEW.
And the one sure-fire way to help you get through what’s left of the workweek is starting to plan your weekend, AMIRITE?!
‘Cos Dubai is a city where being bored is simply not an option and despite the heat, that’s slowly but surely creeping up into the mid-40s (eek!), here are SIX things you can do in Dubai this weekend to make the most of it.
Rolling towards the weekend like
6. Queen’s House salon is the go-to for a weekend treat
This private ladies-only salon located in Wafi is pretty luxe and whether you’re looking for the perfect blow-dry, a mani-pedi, or a make-up look, Queen’s House Salon is your-one-stop-shop.
But that’s not all friends! This spot is INCREDIBLE for Moroccan Baths, it specialises in them actually, and the therapists themselves are highly experienced. Prepare to feel fully-exfoliated with leave with bright, luminous skin.
They have multiple summer promos, including 30% off your first Moroccan Bath (only 195aed!). ALSO, the price of the loofa is included within their package, unlike in other salons where you have to pay extra just for that small scrubbie.
To book or find out more: visit Queen’s House Salon or check out their ‘gram below.
5. Make way for a new party brunch: La Carnita is launching a new bash this Friday
La Carnita is making a name for itself as Dubai Marina’s new party resto, and the launch of a Friday brunch in collaboration with Secret Room sounds like a BLAST.
Think margaritas, delish Mexican food and a cracking good time. What more could you want of a Friday?!
When? Fridays, 1pm – 5pm
How much? AED299 (soft drinks) AED399 with house drinks
4. Take a breather at free yoga at Umm Suqeim Park on Wednesday
Not just a one-time thing, this free yoga happens every Wednesday at the Kite Beach adjacent park. According to the announcement, ‘Yin Yoga is unique in that you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscle and move closer to the bone.’ Sounds zen!
Join the Yin Yoga class every Wednesday at 7.30pm, Umm Suqeim Park
3. Your kids will have an absolute blast at Modesh World
This is a huge indoor carnival/funfair that’s a DREAM for kids. Modesh World comes round every summer, each year it’s bigger and better and this year is no different.
It’s free entry (you pay per ride) expect a slick Go-Kart track, (this is cool for adults too) bumper cars, a gorge kid’s salon, and more rides and theme park attractions than beats the band.

When? Daily until August 17
2. Get a taste of Mykonos at this new Friday brunch at OPA
There is no limit to the number of times I can shout ‘opa!’ and tbh it actually gets more enjoyable every time.
The common Greek expression is used at celebrations both in the Mediterranean country and here in Dubai and you can expect to hear it blasted from the rooftops at this new Friday brunch.
Opa brunch – the Mykonos Edition kicks off on July 19 and it’ll be Green tunes, zorba dancing coupled with Mykonos and of course, AH-MAYING Grecian fare.
How much? AED350 per person with drinks
When? Fridays, 1pm – 4pm

Famous for their live shows, this promises to be an epic night at the newly-opened Coca-Cola Arena, the largest indoor entertainment venue in the city. If you’re into rock/pop, and killer stage shows, this is your jam.
