This Twitter Exchange Perfectly Sums Up What Emirates Means To UAE Residents
Flying with Emirates feels special, this isn't even a disputed opinion.
And someone on Twitter perfectly articulated just why
An Emirati businessman based in the US pointed out that just stepping on board an Emirates flight fills him with a feeling of 'nationalism' - and that he is proud of the airlines.
And, considering the global brand the airline has become in a period of decades, this emotion feels pretty accurate to many people.
My kind of nationalism is what I feel every time I board an @emirates flight. I am proud of and belong to all that made this amazing company possible.— Mishaal Al Gergawi (@algergawi) May 30, 2019
Sultan Al Qassemi, an Emirati art collector and columnist, also agreed with the sentiment and shared a heartwarming story of what the airline has meant to him for several years, particularly when he'd live abroad.
Just boarded EK204 in JFK to fly back home. When we lived in Paris in the 1990s I used to tell Thamer & Fahad that I felt I've arrived home as soon as I had stepped onboard an @Emirates plane. 25 years later I still feel the same way. I echo what MG says below. https://t.co/rFcBv2rIg9— سلطان سعود القاسمي (@SultanAlQassemi) May 31, 2019
And other residents (and former ones as well) seem to agree
I know what you mean. We recently moved back to India and I'm homesick for both Dubai and Emirates. When we used to board Emirates it was like we were already back home in Dubai.— Bindu Dilip (@BinduDilip) May 31, 2019
