We asked, thousands of you voted, and you chose Dubai resident and budding travel blogger Thuymi to become the face of Vita Coco Middle East this summer.
Thuymi jetted off on her epic trip around all the coconuttiest destinations, literally reaching for the beach around the world so keep reading if you’re looking for some serious travel inspo.
“Being the Vita Coco ambassador for a month was amazing. Amongst the serene locations I was sent, I’d already touched down in some of the countries before, but the experience with Vita Coco gave me the opportunity to explore even more and try new adventures!”
First up: The Philippines
With a quick stop at Dusit Thani, Manila, Thuymi headed to the absolutely breathtaking beaches of Palawan Island, which she said was easily one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.
“I’ve never been, so it was incredible to have the opportunity to see Palawan, one of the nicest islands! I headed to El Nido, a very popular spot in Palawan, and was lucky enough to see the Underground Caves, one of the seven wonders of the world. As travellers, our bucket-list is to tick off all seven!”
Then off to: Krabi
Next up, Thuymi headed to Thailand where she stayed at Dusit Thani, Bangkok before making her way to Krabi – staying at Dusit Thani in Krabi … for a serene escape that is out of this world.
“I finally got the chance to see the famous Koh Phi Phi and Krabi islands. Koh Phi Phi is the main island of the small Maya Bay Beach, known for being the location where The Beach was filmed and it was just as beautiful as I imagined.”
Next up: Phi Phi Islands
Next, she was off to some of the clearest waters around, in Thailand’s south, to the Phi Phi islands, where she zipped across the beautiful seas on a Thai-style long boat.
Thuymi said: “Island hopping is a must when you visit Thailand. There is so much to see and so many incredible beaches to visit. I also always made sure to shop around for excursions at each location, to make sure I made the most of my trip!”
Stop four: Sri Lanka
A favourite of UAE residents, Thuymi’s fourth stop was Sri Lanka, specifically, Wadduwa.
With those epic Sri Lankan sunsets, coconuts fresh off the palm trees, and brilliant beaches, Thuymi said she spent plenty of time soaking up the serenity whilst snapping those perfect pics.
“I was always in work mode, I’d be travelling with my insta-husband of the trip: my tripod.
“I made sure I had all my equipment with me at all times, so I could shoot without a photographer wherever I was so I wouldn’t miss a thing!”
Last, but definitely not least: The Maldives
This final stop will have you overwhelmed with envy. Vita Coco sent Thuymi to an over-water villa at the Dusit Thani in The Maldives to spend her final few days.
Well you couldn’t have a round-the-world trip to the best beaches without including the Maldives, right!?
Thuymi says it was still a busy stop, despite the relaxed, calming nature that you’re immersed in as you step onto the beautiful Maldives: “I was taking every photo opportunity there was – which was a lot when I was surrounded by endless white beaches, the clearest, bluest sea and copious sea life.”
So basically, being Vita Coco’s ambassador for the month was pretty epic.
