Yas Mall Are Being Slated On Social Media For Their Use Of Influencers In Their Latest Eid Sale Campaign
With the advent of blogging becoming a mainstay profession, many noted brands are increasingly relying on influencers to promote their service or product.
Armed with monumental pageviews and tons of likes, a plethora of bloggers have become influencers in their own right. Whether they really influence anybody is a discussion for another day, but the fact remains that it’s not completely unheard of an influencer/blogger replacing legit celebrity as a brand ambassador.
Yas Mall recently had a mega sale for upto 90% off this Eid and they roped in bloggers such as Mo Vlogs and Abdullaziz Baz to make some noise for the campaign.
They even released a video featuring these two influencers on their social media page

But what followed was a surge of angry responses by general public.
People heavily panned their choice of featuring influencers, particularly Mo Vlogs, for this campaign.
Many took to Twitter to voice their displeasure
Was gonna go to the mall but since that guy mo vlogs is your ambassador then il take my business somewhere else

They were particularly unhappy about seeing Mo Vlogs in the video promoting their mega sale
I blocked this guy on YouTube now I need to block him here as well

Some of the comments were particularly nasty

The barrage of negative tweets continued for a while

Although Yas Mall hasn’t replied to any of the comments on their video, they have continued to push the video on Twitter as a promoted tweet
