A Chinese Gang Of 12 Were Caught For Running A Gambling Den From A Dubai Flat
A Chinese group consisting of 12 people, including at least three women, were arrested and charged in the Court of First Instance for brazenly running a flat as a gambling den.
The illegal gambling was operated from their flat in Naif area where gamblers could place bets for money.
Police were tipped-off
According to an anti-narcotics police lieutenant, the bust happened after they received a tip-off that a man and a woman were in possession of drugs. They obtained a public prosecution warrant to raid and search their cars and flat, and arrest them.
Around 2am on June 15, we, officers from the anti-narcotics division, raided their flat in the Naif area. We arrested the main defendant – a woman. No drugs were found with her. However, we found a group of men and women in a room in her flat gathered around a table. They were clearly gambling. Dices and amounts of money were seen on the table.”

The age of all the people charged with gambling is between 37 and 54, where the main defendant is a housewife aged 43. She admitted to her involvement in running her rented flat as a gambling den.
Money of different currencies, including AED20,000, $850 and 10 Kuwaiti Dinars, found in her purse were seized. So were the Cheques found by the police officers.
