Seven men were arrested for planning an attack on Arab royals while on an official visit to Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian officials said on Tuesday that the militants were arrested in late February for planning an attack while HH King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, was in the capital.
“They were planning to attack Arab royalties during their visit to Kuala Lumpur. We got them in the nick of time,” Police Inspector-General, Khalid Abu Bakar, told reporters, according to national news agency WAM.
Of the seven men, one is a Malaysian national, four are Yemeni nationals, one Indonesian and one East Asian
The men were arrested between February 21-26 for suspected links to IS.
