A Couple Has Been Detained In Abu Dhabi For Sex Outside Marriage

A couple living in Abu Dhabi have been detained by police for having sex outside marriage, after a doctor established the woman was pregnant. 

The duo, a Ukrainian woman and South African man, were detained by Abu Dhabi Police in January it’s believed but the news has just come out this week. 

The two are engaged to be married, it is reported, and the woman went to the doctor after suffering stomach cramps. 

UAE laws prohibit sexual relations outside of marriage

Anyone found to be breaking the law is subject to a lengthy prison sentence and deportation.
