The UAE Has Just Announced An Amnesty For Illegal Residents

UAE authorities have announced an initiative to introduce an amnesty for illegal residents living in the country.

“Protect Yourself by Modifying Your Status” will allow any illegal residents living in the country to change their visa status or leave the country, without fear of incarceration, deportation, fines, or any legal consequences, regardless of the length of time they have been living in the country illegally.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship is expected to launch the initiative in the next couple of weeks.

This follows a wave of sweeping changes made to improve the lives of residents in the UAE

This comes after yesterday’s news that the UAE announced one-year visas to citizens of war torn countries

And further changes for the private sector, people in transit, jobseekers and residents.
