An Emirati Youth Will Be Jailed For 6 Months For Attempts To Murder A Man With Swords

A 24-year old Emirati was driving a car with a friend (28-year old) in the passenger seat, when they attacked another man in a nearby vehicle using swords. Reports state that they hit the man on the head and shoulder with intentions to kill him back in March 11, 2015. 

The two have also been accused of chasing another person with swords. 

They were faced with charges of attempted murder, damage to others’ property and assault 

However, only the 24-year-old who drove the car was convicted for damaging the plaintiff’s vehicle with the swords, and he is expected to spend six months in prison. The 28-year-old friend’s case, however, was closed “for reason of demise”, according to Khaleej Times. 

The court has also cleared people thought to have been in criminal complicity with the two

The man was reportedly at a traffic light junction with a friend when the 24-year-old Emirati rode on their car before asking him to leave. Another complainant from Oman said that one of the attackers threatened to chop his head off, meanwhile attacking a friend with swords.
