A Woman Is Suing Emirates After They ‘Refused’ To Serve Her Water During A Long-Haul Flight

A woman flying from Melbourne to Dubai is suing Emirates for damages, interests and costs after staff allegedly refused to serve her water according to reports.

According to her representation, Lina Di Falco of Victoria, Australia was told she would have to ‘wait a couple of hours’ for her drink from the airline, despite feeling unwell. She was told the refreshments would be served later in the flight.

The lawsuit has been filed with the supreme court in Australia

During the EK407 flight in March 2015 Lina says she requested water ‘a number of times’ but was denied. Feeling unwell she moved to the bathroom, where she fainted. The resulting injuries turned her Dubai holiday ‘into a nightmare’ and two surgeries were needed on her right ankle, which have left a lasting injury.

‘Ms Di Falco has been left with a significant lifelong injury that could have been avoided by the simple provision of water by aircraft staff,’ according to her lawyer. Emirates have not commented publicly on the case.
