Popular JLT bar and restaurant, Axe House is closed for ‘maintenance’ according to its social media accounts, but it’s unclear when it will reopen, and people are panicked.

The Shoreditch-inspired bar shut abruptly on September 23, with notices saying it’s under maintenance, but owners remain tight-lipped about what’s happening.

Meanwhile, public relations firm, Umami Communications issued a statement to the press

That it was severing ties with Axe House, following its representation of the restaurant, without offering details as to why the comms firm is breaking away with immediate effect.

CEO of Umami Communications said in a statement: “I would like to formally announce the termination of our agreement representing Axe House, Ledingham Drake Solutions and all affiliated management partners involved with the Axe House brand.”

He continued: “At Umami we are committed to work with brands and organisations that align with our own core values of integrity and honesty. We look forward to continuing our relationship with our existing partners and clients that also celebrate these important values.”

The space under Armada Hotel was previously called Cocktail Kitchen

And underwent a rapid transformation to become Axe House back in December, 2017 and became a brunch favourite thanks to its mega drinks, deals and veggie-friendly food.

The bar was revamped, and grunged up – and operated by Ledingham Drake Solutions.

But now, it’s anyone’s guess what’s happening.
