A 23-Year-Old British Man Is On Trial For Gesturing With His Middle Finger In A Road Rage Incident

A 23-year-old British man is awaiting trial for gesturing with his middle finger during a road rage incident in Dubai. 

The man could be penalised with up to six months in prison for the gesture – which is illegal in the UAE. Both swearing and gesturing with the middle finger are illegal acts that can result in jail time of up to two years, or fines of AED20,000.

The man claims another driver was tailgating him while driving in DIFC which caused him to use his middle finger as an insult. 

He’s currently required to remain in the UAE, until his trial.
