A British woman was sentenced to three-months prison time by Dubai’s Criminal Court for assaulting a Swedish man.

22-year-old Asa Hutchinson was involved in a post-brunch row in DIFC’s Al Fattan Currency House in April, 2016, another friend was also convicted by the court.

Asa’s group; two males and one female, allegedly snapped pictures of a 54-year-old IBM business executive and stole his glasses while he slept.

The rest of the group absconded the country

A fight erupted when the man woke, however according to reports, Hutchinson stated she was a witness to the fight and not directly involved.

CCTV footage shows the group approach the man. After the row the victim was left bleeding on the floor, he suffered a broken nose following the incident.

The charges were transferred to Hutchinson after her friends left the country, according to reports.

Ms Hutchinson was convicted in absentia, she is currently in the UK and will not serve the time.
