A Car Rental Company Has Scammed Dozens Of People Out Of Their Deposits
More than 30 people have had to lodge complaints with the Department of Economic Development after a rental car company has refused to refund renters’ deposits.
One renter has been waiting since November 2016 for his deposit and told Lovin Dubai: “What they do is take the cash deposit from their victims. Normally, according to the agreement we are supposed to get our deposits back but in this case, they run away with it.
“Deposits range from AED1000-1500 per person.”
He explains that 30 people have shared experiences and found the same thing happened to them.
The rental car company, SMS Rent-a-car has an active website but deleted its Facebook page.

Dozens shared their stories to the web, and have filed complaints with Dubai Police.
