All car seats sold in the UAE will now require certification to prove they’re up to safety standards.

The Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) will now be required to certify products, and a car seat will not be allowed to be sold here unless it comes with a certificate proving it complies with UAE safety standards.

The move is in line with international best practices for car safety.
