There’s an ongoing battle between ride hailing apps, Careem and Uber in Dubai.
And whether you choose to use Careem, the homegrown app that’s spreading its wings throughout the region, or Uber, this latest announcement from Careem may just be the clincher.
The luxury car service is officially rolling out ‘Go’ next year, a service with a lower pricing plan which aims to nearly match government standard prices, according to local reports.
The service will rival UberX, Uber’s more economical offering which launched on a trial-basis in April and is now available to all customers.
The rides will start from AED6
At the moment, ordinary rates with Careem start from AED16.
Reports also suggest the possibility of a carpooling option in future, a service popular in other regions and which could significantly reduce the cost of travel for customers.
